I've got some exciting news to share!
Well... exciting for me at least. :)
As of August 20th (first day kids go back to school), I will have a permanent studio gig once again:
Power Vinyasa at 12:30pm on Mondays, at Serasana Bee Cave.
My "Monthly Ladies Group" will also be resuming at the end of September, and I will be offering those at both the Serasana Bee Cave and Dripping Springs locations (details coming soon!!)
In case you didn't know- I've been on a bit of a hiatus from teaching regularly, ever since I resigned from Treehouse Yoga in April. Up until then, I was used to teaching about 4+ classes a week (on average) since 2015.
I admit, it was a bit hard for me to take a break from teaching... but at the same time, it was nice to be able to spend more quality time with the kids during their summer break, while also focusing on being a student again, as I work towards completing my 300 hour advanced certification through Practice Yoga from January until September.
Speaking of being a student again - I've found myself feeling somewhat discouraged and unsure of myself as a yoga teacher lately, as I'm surrounded by so many wise and experienced instructors... and realizing how much more I still have left to learn and grow.
But just in the past few days, many of you happened to reach out to express interest in my classes and inquired about when and where I'm teaching.
And here I was, feeling forgotten and insignificant...
Thank you for thinking of me, and for helping to dispel some of that sneaky self-doubt that was starting to creep up. I'm also learning that none of us are ever completely immune from it... no matter how experienced we become.
For all of it's drawbacks, perhaps an occasional dose of self-doubt can also serve to keep our egos in check. ;)
Meanwhile, I am so excited and grateful to be a part of the Serasana family in Dripping Springs and Bee Cave as a sub, and I'm looking forward to acquiring more permanent classes during the school year!
Stay tuned!
Love, Myra
